This is a new venture by Mathematical Services
- the provision of
leaflets.
These leaflets (and a booklet in one case) are a scholarly
investigation and succint explanation into the
origin of places.
Bradford, Cleckheaton and Dewsbury are 2 page leaflets, Halifax and
Wakefield are
4 page leaflets.

This booklet is an account
of the origin of Birkenshaw, West Yorkshire, UK (where I live). There
is not much
controversy as to the meaning of the name of this place,
yet its early origins and development are more intriguing.

or the origin of the name, of a place. A variety of colours are available.
They are useful as cracker fillers or for at a party to get the
conversation going
or to make things happen.
